Truckers Delight

Dave_HendersonAfter ten days of capturing garlic bulbs and the like, I think a change of direction is needed to stop me becoming complacent. For a change I cooked some bacon and an egg to have a bit play around with using natural light. Added a few mushrooms, beans, toast and a mug of tea. I like the high key eff...

Day 192: Fruit pastilles

discreetphoton Look tasty, donít they? They were. No extra lenses for this one, just the 18-270 PZD, as it comes. Nikon D300; Tamron 18-270mm PZD @ 270mm; ISO 200; F/16; 1/160s. VC on.

Day 183: A cure for indecision

discreetphoton Todayís title just as easily describes the Tamron 18-270mm PZD as it does my dinner. Itís great not having to sacrifice your options when youíre faced with uncertainty. Nikon D300; Tamron 18-270mm PZD @ 18mm; ISO 800; F/5.6; 1/4s. VC on.

Day 175: Pepper

discreetphoton Iíve been in the house on my lonesome today while my fiancee has toured South Yorkshire in pursuit of the perfect wedding dress (which I am told she has now found). As such, Iím raiding the fridge for subjects. If you are going to shoot close-up subjects with the Tamron 18-270 PZD, then the...

Day 130: Bakewell cheesecake

discreetphoton This is my current favourite dessert and comfort food. It was a real hit at my 30th birthday bash earlier this year, and the best part is that it's only £1.50 at the big four-letter supermarket. Go treat yourself. It tastes just like those little Bakewell tarts from one of the big cake compani...

Day 115: One tasty chicken

discreetphoton Not much to say really. Itís my dinner, and it was delicious. Nikon D300; Tamron 18-270mm PZD @ 70mm; ISO 200; F/10; 1/200s. VC on.

Photo365 - 13 - Chickpeas

PeteI love chickpeas...and as I've started to cook more this is one ingredient I'll be slipping into meals from time to time. So today I'm cooking Moroccan Chicken which includes a cup (American recipe) of chickpeas And my photo365 for today started out to be a head shot over a plate of chickpeas a...

Ansel Adams Quote

conradStill thinking about my previous blog entry, "Rules Are Made To Be Broken", I came across a quote from Ansel Adams: "There are no rules for good photographs, there are only good photographs." Food for thought... (Is this short enough for you, Cole...?)...

IanAEasy Cruise that is! Day 3 and I'm having a day off from the women! Four of them can be a bit much... They're lovely really ;) No sleep for the first two days (literally none!) means that I'm just catching up on myself in honesty. Things like the Corinth canal at 0530 yesterday morning, a sight we...

How long?

PeteI've just returned from the local pub. I arrived there at 20:20 and, without a reservation, asked for a table. The barman said they were busy and it would be about 21:00 before we would get served. Not a problem...so 21:00 came then about 10mins later our order was taken, but the food didn't arrive ...
