    Portrait Textures

I haven't had time to write more about my photo model holiday in Bulgaria up to now, but it's time to tell you a little more. I'm jumping over a few days and going to the end of the shooting days, the last day, Friday. We went to what turned out to b...

    More from Bulgaria

This time just some atmospheric grab shots with my iPhone, I'm keeping more model photos until later. All pictures edited with Snapseed. Gypsy outside Sliven Derelict place in Seradlevo Old garden gate in Seradlevo Cabin outs...

Be careful about what you delete!

Normally any messages from unknown sources starting with 'You're a winner!' or similar titles get deleted by me. It's amazing how many lotteries I've won without ever entering, or how many competitions I've never competed in but won anyway. Ahem! ...

The No Squirrel Photo Blog Post

This is terrible! Another blog post without a photo! My own fault this time, though. I suppose I should always assume there will be photo opportunities when I go out. Admitted, I often use my iPhone to cover eventualities, but that doesn't always ...

The No-Photo Photo Blog Post :P

I've been carrying around my camera for weeks now, convinced that with the conditions of the season I would be able to shoot some nice pictures. But no - no pictures! Well, not with my regular camera, that is. I did take a few quickies with my iPhone...

    Photo Location Parking Frustrations

It happens to me so often I couldn't possibly count how many times: you're driving along some road, and you see a wonderful photo location. But there's nowhere to park the car, or even to stop (legally). So the photo location disappears into your rea...

Make Your Own Special Gifts Using Your Photos

Making a gift to give to someone close to you used to be a pretty common gesture. Most households contained at least one person with the skills required to sew, craft or bake a suitable gift, and this was how many special occasions were celebrated. I...

The Blog of An Alevel Photography Student Part 43

Got another job interview! A new CEX store is opening up in my town so I think this job will be more up my street than being stuck ina charity shop. Though my way is good at £6.57 and im only 17. Anyways onto photography! I have decided to do the ...

The Blog of an Alevel Student Part 22

Picture time! I havent really had time to evaluate my work because of being at the shop in my time off college, so im planning to evaluate them tomorrow. However i did spend a good hour an a half in the darkroom yesterday printing some prints. I a...

The Blog of An Alevel Photography Student Part 20

Just about to go out and take my second set of photographs, some are going to be digital and others film. Its a bit dizzily, so not sure how i am going to work out certain shots outside as everything is wet. Decided to take my cello once again, proba...

    Size Matters

Well, to some it does. Of course, I can think of plenty people who don't think size matters, I can think of plenty of situations in which bigger isn't better. But sometimes you just can't get around it - size can impress. And at the Royal Armourie...

    Warrior

I've shot the H.M.S. Warrior before with a mobile phone (for some reason I never seem to have my camera with me when I see it), but have to say that the iPhone image beats the Nokia image hands down - both before and after processing. This is the ...

    Photography in the landscape

It was interesting to see photography being used in the landscape. The photo was about a meter and half or so wide mounted on metal posts on a Lincolnshire cycle path. It was a photo of the scene behind. And because it was far away from the villages ...

    Sculptures

Sculptures don't always blend in well with their environment, but these sculptures seem to be in exactly the right place, are appropriate for their surroundings, and are even in the right colour. A perfect match, I'd say.

    Unusual

I've done something very, very unusual today. Well, that is to say, it's highly unusual for me. I know other people do it. But I normally don't. I think that in five years or so I've only done it twice. Or possibly three times. Which isn't very often...
