Portrait Textures

conradI haven't had time to write more about my photo model holiday in Bulgaria up to now, but it's time to tell you a little more. I'm jumping over a few days and going to the end of the shooting days, the last day, Friday. We went to what turned out to be my favourite shooting location, a derelict cotta...

Synchronous approach

pablophotographerHello again folks. If you prepare for a female portrait shooting, make sure that the stylist, the make up artist and the coiffure artist work in harmony and deliver clothes, make-uo and hairstyles of the given period you want to recreate or your model wants to appear like. I think this beautiful...

pablophotographerThe flesh which is visible! Hello dear friends. I am back, battling a long illness affecting the optic nerve, and my vision. My current topic was inspired by this picture where you see a colour differentiation on face and bust and from cheek to cheek. http://www.ephotozine.com/photo/the-look...

Going Pro.....

drfireballLots of talk on line about what "professional" means. To some it means "high quality" to others it refers to someone who relies on photography for their living. Often times these two definitions do not run hand in hand. Market forces I hear you cry! - only those who have both wil...

"What format should I use?"

pablophotographerI'd recommend you try them all, especially if you shoot still pictures. There is of course a reason we call vertical pictures "portrait" pictures and the horizontal ones "landscape" but if you have a digital camera play around. I have seen portrait pictures taken in square forma...

Day 196: Playing fetch

discreetphoton We’ll start of with a couple of cute attention-grabbers. Whilst I’ve been conscious of wanting to get some good photos again, I’ve tried to get a bit of downtime in this week. The weather’s not been fantastic, so I’ve had a great excuse to play with our kitten. Over the last couple of weeks, I’v...

Day 128: Softness

discreetphoton I've been trying to get my fiancee to sit for me for a while. I got home from work today to find that she had dressed herself up, put make-up on, and planned a lovely home-cooked meal to mark the end of the year. After that, she suggested letting me take her photograph. We got many that I love...

Day 120: Patrick

discreetphoton I've slept most of today, in preparation for a nightshift I'm doing. As a consequence, I did leave it rather late before I remembered that I hadn't taken a photo yet. My work colleague was most accommodating, and allowed me to take his picture. In retrospect, I should have positioned him fart...
