Photo 365 - Number 151 - Chess

cattyalI thought I'd get the glass chess set out earlier this evening and try that on the perspex. First I had to remove the black felt base on the pieces - it didn't look good at all. I think I need to try moving the light further back - the texture of the nylon on the softbox shows up too much - t...

Photo 365 - Number 148 - Skull

cattyalIf anyone has any ideas on how to make the evenings longer I'd be grateful for suggestions - I seem to have been faffing about all evening and still haven't done half of the stuff I want to get done - it won't be long before I simply throw in the towel and give up for the day....... Meanwhile gra...

Project 365-185

CaptivePhotonsMore reflective fun. This time with my old Olympus Trip and a roll of long expired FP4. I had a lot of difficulty with this one trying to separate the background and camera/film roll. I hope it's come out ok. Bigger view here

cattyalAnother quick play was managed with the perspex this evening - I'm constantly mooching about wondering what to plonk on it next. This time I rummaged in the drawer and came up with some bits that never get worn - I'm not really a red lippy kinda girl. This time I had the softbox behind but also ...

cattyalI do like this perspex - it's rather fun and good to have a new challenge. This time a diddy bottle of Champagne perfume - shame the lid of the box is a little scruffy - might see if I can clean it up a bit.

cattyalA busy evening today but I wasn't going to let my nice new piece of shiny black perspex sit in its wrapping until tomorrow. Next time I shall apply better lighting and more time to my endeavours but for now a bottle of perfume that never gets used was plonked on it to see how it came out. Not ...

Day 28 - TV Reflections

AshTreeIt's been a rather good day weather wise and I should have gone out with the camera, but I didn't - the day just seemed to go past at breakneck speed. Before I knew it, it was time to think about doing something for dinner, cos I'd planned to pop round and see my daughter this evening. In the mean...

Day 56: A day of reflection

discreetphoton A day of reflection Not just literally. I had to make some time for myself today, and walked along a nearby canal to clear my head after an emotionally charged start to the day. It didnít really work, but I did find a few minutes of clarity. Staring into water has always helped me to find s...

34 - 365

bfgstewMaking up for lost time, this should have been yesterdays upload, so will need to upload 2 today to keep on track. Continuing with shapes and textures. A vase by the venitian blinds caught my eye and took a picture of the reflection on it.

Photo365 - 179 - Sneaker Wave

PeteAnother shot with a hand wave...taken for my photo365 project while out testing a new Holga effect lens for the Olympus Pen. You will be able to see a full review on ePHOTOzine in a few days.

PeteThe old Worksop library closed a few months back when the new two story modern one was opened. It cost 8.4m to build and has state of the art features including a self loan & return system, a cafe, an internet area and modern but almost clinical bookshelves. When it first opened it was regul...

Photo365 - 14 - New Desk

PeteAfter about 10 years of use I decided it was time to buy a new computer desk. The one I'd been using was an old second hand one of high quality, black inset leather, five draws, real wood type thing. At the weekend I spotted a walnut model with a sliding keyboard draw and a tinted glass inlaid top. ...
