MototaurHere is Moto cooling off with the water sprinkler. she is water baby. I am taking photographs of Moto playing about and our other dog is hiding behind me as he hates getting wet .especially when Moto gets over excited and pulls sprinkler out of the ground and showers us with the hose, making us a...

Unfortunate Choice

conradSome people are so keen to avoid parking fees that they forget to read signs warning them for the incoming tide. This was certainly an ill-chosen parking spot, don't you think?

Week 14 of my 52

topsyrmThis week there were contenders early, yesterday's Wagtail being one but I was still looking yesterday evening and came up with this. As always, comments welcome.

discreetphoton A simple shot from the banks of Bolton Ings. Sometimes you can’t let things get in the way of a good walk. Nikon D300; Tamron 18-270mm PZD @ 42mm; ISO 200; F/8; 1/800s. VC on.

Ozzie55THOUSANDS of people from all over the country queued for a rare opportunity to see Bingley’s famous Five Rise Locks from the canal bed over the weekend. It was drained so engineers could carry out vital repair work, with British Waterways taking the chance to replace four of the six giant gates. ...

365 Project: Day 20

Ozzie55Unfortunately I failed to take a photo for today, so decided to upload one from where I used to live in Hervey Bay Qld Aus... feeling a bit homesick for the warmer weather

365 Project: Day 19

Ozzie55Went out in search of some reflections today, so walked along the canal towpath from Saltaire to Shipley and beyond. Took a few different shots, but found these windows of an old building reflected in the rippling canal water quite interesting; hope some other viewers do as well..:)

365 Project: Day 17

Ozzie55Caught this reflection in the canal from my window; saved me going out in the cold.

365 Project: Day 14

Ozzie55MMM... a frosty start to this morning, and a bright sunny day. Popped over to Roberts Park to take a few shots and caught this reflection in the weir. I haven't seen this particular tree reflected in this postion before... to me it looks really weird appearing right on the edge. Looks like 2 diffe...

Day 140: Sprotbrough Weir

discreetphoton Sprotbrough’s a very small village between Consibrough and Doncaster, but it’s one I thought had a lot of photographic potential when I drove through a few weeks ago looking for the nearby wind farm. There are two water channels running side by side, with very different characters, and at this...

365 Project: Day 7

Ozzie55Went back to the weir today to experiment with slowing the water down. I have had quite a few attemtps since living here right beside it, but never seem to be there at the right time of day when the lighting is right. Tried a few with the mill in the background, but they all had burn out either in...

365 Project: Day 5

Ozzie55A fine but windy day, and the Aire River weir is certainly producing water power at the moment.

PeteHaving been inspired by the pepper splash series that Dave Ovendon posted a few years ago, Ive been meaning to have a go myself. My first recollection of this type of photography was a brilliant photo posted by iraddict way back in the early days of ePHOTOzine. It was a green toy with a comical face...

Day 93: Flow rate

discreetphoton Flow rate After realising that there would be no sign of colour to this morning’s sunrise, I headed over to the local weir. I find water very relaxing to watch. The different speeds that it moves over little areas within a stream can lend themselves rather well to photography. Whenever I’...

bfgstewWater Garden. Only found this by accident on our last day. Built on the new waterfront complex a delightful water garden with variable fountain sprays, a relaxing place to soak up the sea breeze and relax.
