Lynford Hall, located in the Brecklands at Mundford near Thetford in Norfolk, dates back to 1857 and was built by William Burn in the Jacobean style.

Now a Hotel, this fine example of English Heritage is surrounded by forest, an arboretum and a small lake, the hotel serves the usual hot and cold food and drinks to non guests, so feel free to head to the bar while you are there Wink

The arboretum has many varieties of trees and shrubs from around the world, it is a rather peaceful place to visit in Norfolk, one of its best kept secrets.

You can find much wildlife around the Hall and gardens, including the Muntjack dear, Roe dear, all 3 varieties of woodpecker, the Green Woodpecker can be heard Yakkling all throughout the summertime. Barn owls frequent the surrounding fields almost daily, as well as Falcons and Red Kites.

Thetford Forest surrounds the Hall, and is quite popular with walkers, joggers, and twitchers.
