This is Roche Rock

In 1872 it was said that “The wild Grandeur of the celebrated Roche Rocks has often attracted the attention of geologists” Why? its because the rock is not made of Granite as many assume, rather it is made of just two minerals grey quartz and black tourmaline. Both are very tough and that is why the Rock stands high.

On the top of the rock stands a ruined chapel dedicated to St Michael in 1409.
