I am a nature photographer,my specialty is conservation involving mainly protection of our species. I travel widely all over the world for my work. A lot of which goes into posters and various other things, which raises monies for conservation projects.
At the moment I am working on an article on macro insect photography for the UKR digital photography magazine. I also do work for text books in North America and South East Asia. Photography for me is a tool to help protect our natural world. Though I think its an uphill battle that may not be won. As man encroaches on more and more habitats around the world and the greed for money and control takes over.
It makes me wonder how smart the human race is. I have seen degredation of rainforests on a scale that not only ruins the landscape but peoples livlihooods as well. In Borneo for example the jungle is being razed down to plant Pina palms for the oil it produces. The Penan people who have lived a sustainable lifestyle for generations are now loosing the life they had. Both the west and Asian countries have invested in this criminal activity. But hopefully through my photography and many others like me it will have some effect on the young of today. I would hate to see a world where all we have are photographs as reminders of what we once had.
