Reykjavik Aurora

By AntHolloway
On our first night in Iceland we were lucky enough to see an auroral display for about 25 minutes, seen here from the hotel grounds in a suburb of Reykjavik. As we found during the rest of our stay, having clear skies is one challenge and then hoping for the aurora to make an appearance is another! Some quick experimentation was required to get the best balance of ISO and exposure time, in a trade off between noise and capturing the aurora as it moved. This was a 6 second exposure at ISO 800, f/3.2.
