Been out tonight to photograph a site i've not been to before, but have been past a few times.
This is the Beacon. Originally built sometime during the medieval period, it's situated along side the old road leading up Swaledale, on the highest point some 1061 ft above sea level.
It can be clearly seen from the Castle keep, and is also in sight of similar beacons on Penhill in Wensleydale and Roseberry Topping in Cleveland.
