I agree with Parkside. I feel the shadows work against it though.- 26 Sep 2007 4:28PM

Not the other way by JohnRShort
A very strong B&W image. Not seen the other one yet, but if it's half as good as this, you've got a pair of winners!- 9 Sep 2007 11:52AM

As I walked home............ by helenlinda
This is a nice strong image. You've done well to see this and capture it, especially as the lighting is quite a challenge.
It's rather too washed out on the white door and whilst looking at this, let's not forget this is an ugly, modern plastic take on a traditional door style thats completely devoid of any redeeming features (yup, I hate UPVC).
I wonder if the orientation of the road would allow you to take the same shot earlier in the day looking from the opposite direction to capture the shadows and colour against the traditional door? Perhaps there's another pair of houses with traditional doors further down?- 9 Sep 2007 11:41AM

This is a great photo and one that I wish I have taken. Works well against a darkening sky. Only comment is that the structure itself could use a tiny bit of lightening.
I'll post my recent take on it for comment
