The Perfect Boiled Egg - A Lenticular Story

For those of you who have read my blog on Lenticular Printing or seen my images you will have see that I used some of John Duder's captures to build these. My own images were a bit less successful. Here I've built up a still life of my own specifically for this treatment. It has a bit of a back story.

We all missed Christmas and some of traditions we love. Our family were within a day of coming to see us, then all off. On Christmas morning our daughter Helen loves a boiled egg, cooked by me as I have the courage to keep it runny, as it always tastes better. With boiled eggs, you never quite know what they are going to be like until you take the top off. On Christmas morning, it has to be perfect. That is what is expected. Except this year, no Helen. So I've prepared for her the image here - The Perfect Boiled Egg. It will be framed and put in her new kitchen (if she likes it!). Ideally, it would have had one of her favourite egg cups, but these are 50 miles away.

Viewed square on, the loaf looks like it is sliced into soldiers, ready for the dip. To the right, the intact egg and loaf, ready for chopping... To the left, ready for dipping. Delicious freshly baked loaf, white to give contrast. Yum Yum.

For those with perfect eyesight, you might notice that I have accidentally included a 'Extra Slice' - once I noticed it, I knew I'd have to reprint this

Not so much a blog, more a note to Helen.
