This is so far out of my comfort zone the only time I usually photograph people is when they inadvertently walk into a landscape shot.

But it is always good to try something new. Lit by window light and off camera flash to the right.

Many thanks for the comments, votes and UAs for my deer shots very much appreciated!

And as always thank you for your time once again.

A genre which I have never attempted but for a first time attempt you have achieved a fine shot IMHO.
The lighting seems well controlled and catch of light in the eyes is nice.

Good framing and it looks so natural, you'd never guess you'd set it up.
Beautiful model too!

Golly, if this is your first portrait, you have been missing a whole lot of possibility. This is a terrific shot. Your lighting is spot on, you used a really interesting camera angle, but most of all, this has the qualifier for a good portrait. You appear to have captured the spirit of your subject. That is the one thing that cannot be taught.

You've captured a lovley smile. not all portraits require thst, but it's not always easy, so well done.
You'e alos got the balance of flash and ambient light just right, again not always easy.

Comfort zone or not. She certainly looks comfortable in front of your camera which indicates all is going very nicely.

One more portrait than I've managed! And the eyes make it a winner.
