Some images from my visit to 'The National Memorial Arboretum', Alrewas, Staffordshire.
In this first image, these two young girls walked past me as I was taking a picture of this section of the 'Armed Forces Memorial' and I heard one of them saying 'he's down here'.......maybe a Dad, brother.....cousin - it was so moving. What also really got to me on this side of the memorial is the blank sections of the wall, ominously waiting there for new names to be added.
The rest of the pictures are:
V2 - South side detail of the 'Armed Forces Memorial'.
V3 - 'Gates of Eternity', part of the 'Armed Forces Memorial' (also on the South side).
V4 - Steel eagle on a globe, which stands in the 'Royal Air Force Association Remembrance Garden'.
V5 - An 'ATS' girl in uniform.... 'Auxiliary Territorial Service' memorial.
V6 - Suez Veterans Asscociation Memorial (Pyramid & Memorial Cross).
V7 - Parachute Regiment & Airborne Forces Memorial.
Thanks again for all your C&Cs on my last uploads folks, very much appreciated.
I won't be online at all this coming week.........but looking forward to catching up with all your wonderful work soon.
