Abraham Lincoln in Victoria

By accystan
The Americans came to town last week in one of their big boats. The USS Abraham Lincoln parked just outside Victoria harbour. I naively thought there'd be boat trips to view the carrier up close (we're friendly...)! Not a chance. Nothing was allowed within 1000 metres of it - not private yachts, power boats, float planes, not even kayaks. Three small (US) boats 'buzzed' anything that came close.

It created a lot of interest. It is nuclear (we're nuclear free) and is stationed in nearby Seattle.

Nicely put together, colours are really saturated. I would suggest some more detail in the boat might be worth trying, - though the silhouette is interesting.

The American's never do play nice, do they? they never like to share their toys. Smile

Should have sent them home. "It's our harbour, & if you won't let us have a look, we won't let you dock".
