I've got one of these blooming in my garden now & have a picture in my PF. Not sure what it is - somebody suggested it was a cornflower. Click!

I think these are annual cornflowers & a very photo of one too, I can never get the blue to look right when I take them

Mike, Glynnis, Julie: Thank you for taking the time to comment. Seems that it is a cornflower.... symbol of the Canadian ALS Society, featured on Corningware and described as a weed in some parts. Who knew? Amazing what the click of a mouse can teach you.

oh this is gorgeous - being really picky I'd extend the green over the corners to cover up the housey bits but gorgeous colour and detail.

very nice details. bachelor buttons/cornflowers are actually edible flowers, the petals are anyhow..and can be used to create a food coloring that can be used to color cake icings a pale lavender color.
