interesting shot, good use of light and shadow 
Thanks all, 1939 was when "the Sun set on Modernism." When there's a strong sunset at this time of year it reflects off the white painted houses opposite ours. The left hand side of the photo is our lounge radiator and the shadows are cast by our "Crittel-esque" window and a rather nice modern Art Deco lamp that sits on our side board. It all changes rather rapidly and luckily I had the camera to hand so could just grab this as soon as I saw it! Then it was a case of compose it whilst taking the shot then cropping slightly to get the most from it.
