Sussex Riley Too

By Actuarius
This was taken at the same time as the last picture. The owners just parked the cars and went to the pub rather than posing them. It was fortunate for me that it was in an appropriate part of the village! The fact that there was no one else there when I took the pictures also meant I could take my time composing the shot and not worry about someone walking into frame. A frriend of mine "sepia-ed" this and whilst it was considering why it worked so well that I decided high contrast and low depth of field are critical in creating a "period image".

The Riley is in splendid condition - fits well into its surroundings, as you say. The owner clearly believes it to be suitable for day-to-day travel, and there is no reason why not.

The photo does full justice to the vehicle. A head-on shot would largely conceal the fine paint-work, which you have rendered very well indeed. Sepia or mono would be equally valid of course - the colour is the only hint of 21st-century technology. Excellent picture!
