Cross Processed Dereliction

By ade_mcfade
I got a few shots (HDR) from around the outside of the old pool whilst Richsr and dave were flashing at each other. Quite enamoured with that silvery bright bit in the top middle, I wandered around trying to get it in shot and to balance up; bit of a struggle

Thought I'd use the blocks as a balance for it, so bunged them in EPZ position and tried to line the other ones up a little, not in a pointing-to-something line but generally so they interacted a bit.

Did the edit and then tried a X-process action, it went green, I liked it so here it is...

Great shot Ade. I like the cross processing effect. The blocks were a good idea to lead into the image. They work as they carefully and artfully positioned as they are.

Gritty and urbanistic Ade, clever use of lens as well, gives a real sense of claustrophobia with the low point of view. The X processing adds a new dimension to it as well, tastefully done and is pleasing to the eye.

I really like this one Ade, but I have a slight niggle with the glimpses of sky and the other building through the structure. The rest of the image has a surreal quality, but those bits are firmly anchored in reality.

I would have been tempted to knock them back a bit and darken the bright patch of sky.
