I just wonder how many people on here are IT professionals wanting to become pro photographers to get away from their "careers"?

I looked like this and worse every day in my last team, but the new one's actually quite good fun - a lot of it's down to the management you work for over what you actually do.

That's the pain of office work - you have to pander to idiots (i.e. poor managers) on a daily basis.

Hope the shot gets that across.

strong image and great textures, and I would love to know how you achieved that sort of glow on the lighter areas - it looks more sophisticated than just upping the contrast?

Ta everyone - glad ya like it

the glow... it's just down to the light and the angle it hits the skin really. I've not done anything with filters in PS, just converted it into mono using channel mixer.

best to use the lights to get your effects than PS - and far more satisfying

Wonderful lighting Ade, especially that rather ghoulish look around the eyes. Really like the way it brings out the textures in the skin too.

My god! I thought I was depressed at having to go to work in the morning!
Another superbly lit shot, I love the skin tones - looks as if it's been anointed with oil.
