Since I took these porsche shots in December 2009, I've discovered Exposure Fusion and Silver EFX - so I thought I'd revist the folder and see what difference these would make

I must admit, for this locatgion, Exposure Fusion is infinitley better than either of the Tone Mapping modes in Photomatix. Just a useable shot straight out of the box... I struggled for ages with Tone Mapped shots, halos everyhwere, wierdness going on...

Then the mono conversion...

Well I was pretty happy with my monos before SilverEFX, but found myself doing lots of tewaking with cuves and masks to drag detail out, now with EFX it is possible to do most of that very easily!

So yeah - I'm very impressed, processed 4 shots last night in the time it would have taken to do 1 normally!

Great capture and composition. Mono and angle of the car adds to the dramatic impact.

Nice one works really well blended like this I've been using Nik efex pro and silver efex for a year or so now and couldn't be without it to tell you the truth tonal contrast filter in Nik efex pro is fantastic and so quick.

Like the details and tones in this Ade - good reflection in too.
So Silver EFX is worth a look then?

EFX is ace - but it's the Exposure Fusion that made the differnece

I literally just guessed the setttings in the batch processor and pointed it at a folder full of RAW files - ages later all the shots got merged and just seemed that bit more "real" than the HDR's

I'll definitely be demoing this in workshops in future.

Awesome work, I just got the Silver efx and need to play with it, but I might just look into this other plugin too as I would love to get results as good as this. I really like all 4 shots in this series, I could see you putting out sme serious promotional work for vehicle brands etc

Cheers Angi - Exposure Fusion is in Photomatix, the HDR software.

Rather than generate the HDR file, you now have an option called "Exposure Fusion" i the list, it's a bit like Exposure Blending, but seems to have been improved a lot

One of the options has several sliders so you can tailor the image like in Tone Mapping - I use that.

Its rather nice... Smile
Great! I like it! Smile
