Wrynose Pass

By ade_mcfade
This one's from Sunday - the day after the other shots I've posted in this series.

It wasn't too bad at this moment - comikng through langdale was a windscreen wiper free experience. On the way up the pass, we pulled in at the bridge and got a few shots of the bloated stream - usually a nice trickle, it was really going for it - loads of little tributaries all over making lines into the gully.

This is just upstream of the bridge - the bridge is in shot to the bottom right.

Fairly fast shutter to capture some of the texture in the rushing water. The blue sky is decieveing... it was grey behind Smile

Stunning image. Really one of the better long shutter speed stream images I've ever seen. Such depth. We are being swept into the image. Thank for sharing.

cheers everyone

shutter was about a 10th or so I think... maybe a bit longer, but I'd certainly opened the aperture a bit to get the speed up on this one.

Wonderful, wonderful landscape photography, Ade. You have chosen a super viewpoint, with the s-bend of the river leading the eye onto the valley beyond. The shutter speed choice is spot on too.

Cheers Phil and Keith - agree with you here, when I'd finished it I did think this was the one, but I'm sure Pete seems so many landscapes like this, that he's bored of them

A HC is very nice of course!

Yesterday's shots got Photo Of the Day on Usefilm - quite happy with that too.

Love those lakes!
