hi dudler I had my settings on one shot, 1pt af focus on the right eye with spot metering if that helps my camera is set up for back button focusing I just think they could be better with the lens I've used here canon 24-105mm F/4 L USM

hi dudler the flashgun I used was a speedlight YN560 IV I did not use any softbox or modifiers sometimes it would fire and sometimes it wouldn't fire

Thanks willie I’ve just started getting into portrait photography I’ve never really tried it before this was from my first shoot with a model in the park

thanks for the comments all very much appreciated, I managed to get this shot after hours of trying kids ain't easy to photograph at that age kept trying to grab the camera but I managed to distract him just for a couple of mins and that was my result, I've never really tried this type of photography but its something id like to do more of just need to learn a tips on posing models etc.. I have uploaded a mod to get rid of the distracting background and added another backdrop.

yes it was shot through a clear class screen at a zoo ive got rid of the canon 18-200mm ive upgraded it (hopefully) to a canon 70-200mm l usm. I used my tamron 150-600mm g2 for these shots i was pretty much stuck at 150mm

thanks Moira no i did not use a tripod for this shot but my tamron lens does have very good stability control
