ok, so this is my very first attempt at a non-abstract portrait. I spent about an hour editing out busy background, messing with the lighting and adding a bit of noise. I like what I've come up with and I hope you guys will, also. It's not GREAT, but what the heck. I'm a rookie at this!

Robyn,

I think it is very well done, the expression is very real to me. May I advise (?) , try to get the knee and your left hand, right arm out of the picture. move them to the b/g .Because of the perspective they seem very large and therefore they distract from your facial expression.

Great work Robyn.... love the tones!

Thanks guys! Wolf, thanks for your ideas. I was kind of just messing around with this one...I convinced my buddy to be my dummy for a few shots. I'll have to get him to come back so I can try again.... Smile

Would have been nice if you could have lessened the light on the face a bit, apart from that I like it.

Hi Robyn,if you want to fix what wolf has said, draw yourself in a shawl of some type with a Robyn design covering the hand etc and it will be just perfect with the perspective and scale.Looks like your going to be great at portraits too.Take care.AnnSmile
