Decent scene, but you can crop off almost all the bottom half. Just featureless water with the odd bird. That then gives a letterbox image. Your contrast is possibly a touch high and a slight smart sharpen would lift the buildings, providing it's not sharpening that has caused the contrast.

I would be interested to know what post processing you have done on this, if any? If straight from the camera, is the camera set to a picture mode like portrait, landscape, etc?

Theres potential here, and for a start cropping the large empty water space and using a panoromic format as suggested by Paul is a good idea.

nest, looking at the image in photoshop, all of the image data is in the right of the histogram, indicating little depth, not much mid tone data, and bery little black. It looks like there has been some wotk on the dark end of the histogram?

So what you have ended up with a a washed out appearance, further aggravated by sharpening.

I have cropped a mod, and restored mid-tone detail, less sharp overall, but more sharp where the buildings are; increased saturation; warmer white balance; removed the crane, and straightened. It needed a small CCW rotation.

Hope the mod gives you some ideas on post processing.

regards
