Appleby Fair

Taken at Appleby fair over this weekend. Was an experience to say the least.

Edit: The horse riders had to wash their horses in the river then ride them round in an orderly fashion to rinse the horses off. This rider was on his way out of the deep part of the river when the horse reared up as it tried to stay up above the water surface and hence the rider is trying to stay on. They all rode bare back too which made it more difficult to stay on.

Great shot, I was there myself on Friday and was impressed with the skill of the kids on their horses, mind you it looked like they'd been riding all their lives (as opposed to going to school Wink )
