Comet ISON

By Aenima
From the 16th (16/11/2013) Comet ISON as seen through an 8inch reflector, taken 9 x 30sec exposures - stacked in deepskystacker using comet mode. Smile

Still waiting for this to become a proper naked eye comet - it wasn't really visible in my 12x50 bino's either, only way I could get a decent look at it was to tap the co-ordinates into the 'GoTo' handset and use the telescope Tongue

Nicely done! Have recently been alerted to this forth coming event, nice to have a preview, can't wait to see if I can have a go at it.

And will it survive its very close pass to the sun? A couple of days will tell.

GREAT capture.

As of this morning, fri.. 29th , it is looking bleak for ISON - it appears to have not survived the trip round the sun intact, if at all. Still the occasional rumor and many stargazers in a state of denial, but i'm not holding out too much for the naked eye spectacle we were all hoping for.

Shame.Tongue
