Golden touch

By aeras
I found this place back in September and I loved the composition from that viewpoint. The only problem was that the sun was setting behind that distant rocky formation and the balance wasn't there . So I had to wait until the End of November for the setting sun to create a more balanced frame. I was there a number of times waiting for some clouds to appear ... and finally they made an appearance Smile
A single RAW file , taken with the Nikon D800 and Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 with Nisi 10 stop ND plus Nisi 3 stop soft ND grad. Exposure was 120,0 sec; f/11; ISO 100. Very basic post process in Camera raw , highlights lowered , shadows lifted , a little blurring with an adjustment brush for the water , and a gradient was used for the sky to lower the exposure. In Photoshop a selective sharpening (foreground rock) and a Vignette was applied.
Right after this one the soft grad ND smashed to the ground for no apparent reason , as if it slipped on its own from the holder !!. This is the 4th Nisi filter I break (firstly the 10 stop , then the reverse grad , then the 3 stop and again the 3 stop) Sad and they do not come cheap. In this case a CPL would reduce the glare and increase saturation of the wet rock on the left but I am reluctant to buy one , or replace the one I broke.
