How to make a composition out of next to nothing - the crop and placement are perfect, there's a sense of mystery.

Thank you for your user award Moira - so much for 'no prizes' !! I didn't think anyone would notice how hard I worked at the composition. It is, as you so observantly say: 'a composition out of next to nothing' .... thank you xx

Hi Helen. I do not see how this abstract would go unnoticed.

I would say f/7.1 is an apeeture too closed for something with such a shallow depth.
It looks a bit dark to me, but the colours blend well.

One can be lost for words by the weirdness of the composition, which is all down to the orientation. That upwards pointing rogue line pointing upwards. I can hear my old lady saying "whatever". It doesn't make sense IN THAT way.

You ratate it 180 degrees upside down and it starts resembling a face of an automatic chronograph with various circles denoting hundreds of seconds, and thousands of seconds while the rogue wire piece becomes a charge gauge. I know the hands are missing. Replace them with fantasy.

Bravo.

I almost did rotate as suggested, as it was flat to a surface, but the light wasn't right, so I decided on the circle in the bottom left third - for no other reason than it felt good there... Thanks tho', and interesting critique. helen

Wonderful abstract.

Texture, colour, balance, tension, all working to make less out of more.
As for orientation, it works however it is rotated.
Superb.
Cheers
