Yep the direct look sets this apart from being simply a record shot. Everything is impelled forward in this which makes it challenging and dynamic ...

Thanks Suzi, this is really my first attempt at photo-journalism/reportage.
I was trying to portray the "in your face" challenging atmosphere. This was the only really decent shot out of nearly 50 frames. I had to call out loudly to get the girl to look at the camera.
Glad you think it works.
Cheers

If there is one thing that i find very challenging, is taking pictures of people during protests. People are always suspicious and wary of photographers. However, You've managed to take a shot of the intensity on this young lady's face, which tells she cares about what she is demonstrating about. (The War protest back in Feb/march..powerful atmosphere) Hope to see more your pictures. Great picture opp will be on thursday at the protest in London. Thank you also for your comments regarding my picture. Good luck with the street photography, and hope to see more of your pictures.

The eye contact makes the whole image for me. If you didn't have it it would be a snap. Pat on the back methinks... Smile
