Lesser Redpoll

By Alan_Coles
Morning All,

Bright blue skies out there today - no good for togging though. A little while ago I posted a similar shot of this redpoll in portrait format. It is a different shot as the bird here is looking more sideways than looking behind him in the other shot. The crop is intended so as not to look the same as the previous upload.

Have a good day...I was due to have a lunch date with a friend but looks like my plans have been scuppered Sad

PS: This bird got me a print acceptance in this years Welsh Salon which I was very happy about. Well done to my friends in IFG (Trooper, Phil Morgan) who nearly swept the board with the top image awards this year and my old epz buddy mikefromebbw who did get the best Natural History Award on his 1st attempt. Smile

I am not suprised this shot got you an acceptance in the Salon Alan. It would have been a great injustice if you had not. My compliments to Mike when next you meet.

Excellent - and congratulations on the GEA - well deserved and well done on your acceptance for the Salon
well done on the Salon acceptance, never easy to attain. Your birds are always interesting especially to someone who has never managed anything like this.

despite the feet being hidden GrinGrin --- this so outstanding in terms of quality that i have given it my award,

i see it has a guest editor award but i just do not understand how images of this quality do not pick up the top awards.

the perch is attractive, the background beautifully out of focus and complimentary, the composition super and the sharpness particlarly around the head is stunning. there is nothing i could add other than its a joy to look at and of a quality that is in the top level i have seen on epz.

regards
