Mandarin

Took the wife for a drive yesterday and ended up around the Forest of Dean area - was hoping to see some hawfinch but sadly didn't. I did get a 1st though...stopped at a place called Cannop Ponds and went to have a look what was on there and saw a few of these...I have never seen one before to be honest although they are fairly common in the UK. The light wasn't the best and its really only a record shot but its brightening up a rather Sunday grey morning here in wet Wales.

a very attractive duck, have managed to see a hawfinch on cannock chase, but didnt get a decent pic, need a better lens and lessons!!!
