Can someone please advise me of any Company that is able to transfer approx 25 mounted slides to a CD.

I have contacted a Birmingham firm and they are quoting 2 plus VAT per slide which seems a bit pricey but there again, I have no idea what the "going rate " is.

    Thanks a lot.

"What am I having?" - what to drink or another printer ??? If it`s the former, a pint please.

You are responsible for making me think I should get another printer, not a big beast like you are searching for but one which would give me decent A3 prints. I see Warehouse Express have the Epson R1900 for 474 but Park Cameras advertise the same model for 379.99.

Is the 1900 the beefed up version of the 1800 you once had and if so, what did you think about it?. No problem for me that it will not print panoramas.

Anyone else have any thoughts or experiences - good or bad on the Epson R1900 ?

Why not organise a "get the printer into the loft evening" and we could come round, have a few drinks etc. and then help you get it into its position.

It might not be so much a struggle after a few beers !!!

This is bugging me so decided to go on my laptop and do a bit of research.

Firstly, I was wrong with my earlier image size in the editor screen, I have measured it and it`s 6 x 4 approx. One click on the magnifying tool makes it just over 7 x 5 so that`s a bit easier to work with.
The Image size box shows the document size of 14.293 inches wide and 9.493 inches in height with a resoltion of 300. All 3 boxes at the bottom of the box are ticked.

If you have a minute, could you please let me know what the Image Size box shows on your set up.

    Thanks a lot -- Alan

Not on my laptop at present but 4 x 3 was approx. size.

Have not touched resizing (well I think not!) but why is it that JUST the editor page only shows the smaller size ? Surely If I HAD resized somewhere, other screens would have been effected ?

    Thanks Simon

The image size in the organiser is fine and also in the raw converter but once I go into the editor, it "shrinks". I make the changes, save and close the image and there it is in full size again in the organiser. I tried what you suggested but to no avail.

    Any more ideas ?

I have recently bought PSE7 and liking it very much. I really like the ease with which I can work on RAW files and the image takes up most of the screen but when I open it into the editor, the image goes very small - approx 4" x 3".

Can anyone please tell me how to increase the image size in the editor.

    Thanks a lot

My Nikon D300 Raw files are now shown and there are a some more options for the slide show and I think the options for collages are a bit different.

Google have upgraded Picassa to version 3 which now handles NEF RAW files from the D300.

You can now add text to your images as well as a few options for the slide show.

It`s free - so give it a try.

Quote:I think this is a great idea. If another one is arranged that is accessable by public transport from Birmingham I would be interested.

Barry, There is a good train service from Birmingham New Street to Telford with the fastest journey time approx. 40 minutes.

I would be happy to meet you from Telford Station and then onto Much Wenlock.

What will you use for the portraits, Standard or Neutral ?

What WB are you using ?

As a matter of interest, what tweaks do you make in picture control to vivid?

I use +3 on sharpening and -1 on hue. I set Auto WB to B1 but that produces too much blue so in the main, I now use cloudy which gives me some nice results. I used an 81B warm up a lot wth film so cloudy WB on digital is similar.

Althoughy you are unable to join us, I`m sure you will remember some of the places along the line we will be visiting. The Santa special still run each season and they are more popular than ever. I know families who have just turned up without prebooking only to be very disappointed at not getting on the train.

At today`s fuel prices, you may have needed to take out a loan to be able to visit SVR again.
