    Sarah

I live in Shifnal and my mate Edd who has really set the ball rolling on Nikon Owners message board lives in Bridgnorth.

We are also trying to arrange a day out at the RAF Museum at Cosford. The Cold Ward Museum is just great to photograph - but more of that location later.

A couple of us from Shropshire Nikon Owners Group plus some friends from Birkenhead are meeting up on Sunday 6th July at Bridgnorth Station.

Perhaps we could use that date/location as a starting point for the day and to meet other keen photographers.

As I said in my origianl post, ther are great photo opportumities.

    Anyone interested ?

    Hi everyone

This event is being held on the weekends of 28/29 June and 5/6 July. www.svr.co.uk

It really is worth attending and there are great photo opportunities.

    Thanks for that.

Just to clarify, I put my CF card directly into the card reader built into my computer. I don`t download directly from the camera.

Don`t imagine that makes any difference - but just in case !!

I have started to use RAW + JPEG fine for my images (instead of JPEG only) and impressed with what can be achieved. I use Windows Scanner & Camera Wizard to download them from the camera as this for me seems the easiest option. If and when I start to shoot RAW ONLY, can I still use this method?.
Once I have taken the photograph, is the LCD displaying the RAW or JPEG image ?
If there`s anyone else who has recently taken the plunge into RAW, I would appreciate your comments and any tips you can offer. I seem to be able to make all my changes in Capture NX.

    Thanks very much.

Should also have mentioned that my daughter in law set up a page on www.justgiving.com and over 9000 has been raised for Leukaemia research.

So much money is still needed by these charities to continue their work.

    Kris
    Just wondering how you are.

We held a service at our local church last Saturday to celebrate the life of my son. Over 200 people were present and the collection for Leukaemia Research amounted to just under 600. The Hymns, recorded music and prayers were beautiful.

Preparing and reading the eulogy was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life - I never expected to have to do this for one of my children.

    Thinking of you.

So sorry to hear your sad news.

My son died on 18th August from Leukaemia - he was 32 years of age and had been married less than 1 year.

I light a candle in Church and pray for him. I will also light one for you and your sad loss.

My supplies of Fuji NPH 400 are getting short and I believe Fuji no longer manufature it.

I can`t remember what has replaced it so anyone out there who can give me an answer please.

    Thanks as always.

Up to now, I have been using Lexar High-Speed Professional Compact Flash WA80X with my Nikon D200.

I need to buy another couple of 2GB cards but see that the 133X looks as if it has /is taking over from the 80 and I would be grateful if D200 users could tell me what they use. There appear to be a number of Companies who make these cards but I always tend to go for Lexar - perhaps there are other cards just as good as these.

    Thanks for your help.

    Terry

My thoughts are with you and your family especially at a time when my own son who is 32 years of age was diagnosed with Leukemia on Saturday and is about to start intensive chemotherapy treatment meaning he will be in hospital for 6/8 weeks.
As well as for my own son, I shall pray for your family as well.
I don`t know you personally and probably never will but there is just something that strangley makes me feel I do know you. Is it a sharing a grief ? - I`ve no idea !

God bless you Terry and all your family.

Are you happy with the Slingshot 300AW ?

The D200 Magic Lantern series Book written by Simon Stafford is first class.

I think he is one of the most knowledgeable people on Nikon products.

Before I had the D200 I had a D70 and also have his book on this - again, it`s really good.

That`s a very good price for the Slingshot 300aw from Tecno.

Assuming you have now received it, what`s your verdict?
I see the 300 has a waistband which does not appear on the 100 and 200 and wonder if this makes it just a bit cumbersome. I imagine you just unhook the strap before pulling the bag round to the front.
