Get My Best Side Please!

By AlanBW
I’m very busy at the moment, but I’m trying to keep up with EPZ and if I’ve missed some of your recent uploads, I can only apologise. I hope to catch up with people’s portfolios this week. Just a few days after our return from the Baltic States, we received the news that Tricia’s 80 year-old mum has been diagnosed with the early stages of Alzheimer’s, so I have been very much occupied in contacting the relevant authorities and trying to get things in place to ensure that her best interests are being addressed – and will be in the future.

The above image is a very unfamiliar subject for me – and a long way out of my comfort zone. I was quite pleased with the result and definitely wanted it to be part of my gallery, so I hope you will enjoy it.

Still on the Baltic theme, the image was captured at a wayside comfort / coffee stop in Estonia where, as well as superb facilities, there were numerous well kept animals and birds in surrounding fields. This fine specimen was strutting around with several others and came close enough to the fence to enable a shot to be taken. It was attracting quite a lot of attention from visitors and really played to the gallery, sending some of the young children into shrieks of giggles. As well its delightful character and amusing demeanour, this amazing creature intrigued me with its large eyes, prominent beak and spiky hair.

Some of you who commented on a recent upload entitled ‘Apples For Sale’ asked if John, my ‘spotter’, was going to be featured here. Well, John has agreed that I can use the candid photo I captured of him – and that will be the next upload in the series. Next time I’ll tell you more about how I took that shot and the fun that arose as a result.

Thank you for your introduction to Prague it really was great and we sampled both pubs you mentioned. 19 of us ate at the one across the bridge on the first night when I was intrduced to the dark beer. It is delicious. Later we tried the one around the corner from the town clock.I did not notice that those waiters were any ruder than most of the others. They really should lighten up a bit.We also met George and I passed on your regards.
