Long Forgotten

By Alandyv8
Good morning everyone, I apologise that I haven't been around much these past few days, family events have overtaken other things but many thanks for all your c&c's on my previous uploads and I'm going to try and have a good catch up on what I've missed over this coming week. Today's upload is something different again, this was taken in a small country churchyard at Astley in Worcestershire, a very old church parts of which date back to the 12th Century. It was a glorious summers morning about 7.30 a.m and I was struck by the age of some of the gravestones, many completely weather worn and it made me think about time and the way it moves on, I'm sure when the families put these stones in place they imagined that they would be a permanent memorial to the deceased and yet here we are today and I doubt that anyone knows who is buried there unless they check the church records.

That's life indeed but what ever happens to our love ones it will always remain in heart. No matter what. Very well taken!

theres a certain sadness and mystery about this image. Are the 2 people buried there related? parent and child? husband and wife? Very well taken

Looks like a good resting place... I like the image.
And the stones look more interesting now they have no names... Good shot. IB
