Kilve Abstract 7

By alansdottir
Another from Kilve - this time, I'm having a little fun - the rocks here are known as blue lias - mostly limestones and mudstones - and in celebration, I have processed this a little more, pushed the blue beyond the natural. Live a little!

V2 for the more natural approach...

Tech stuff: ISO 200; shutter 1/220 sec; aperture f/3.2; focal length 15 mm (but see lens); tripod... And a love of blue!

Oh, my goodness! The colours in the base rock are wonderfully subtle and the lines in it seem to trace their own contours. Small ribbons of life cramming the crevices. And that cobble or pebble, no sense of scale here, seems to glow.

I love this one.

Colors are wonderful when pushed-- prefer v1--

Think I would have left the moonstone out of this i mage as the lines of the larger rock can carry an image on their own....

Supremely fine detail in each version, beautiful lines and contrasts. I can't decide which version I prefer - perhaps the greater mystery of V1.

The deep blue one is my favourite, but then I love blue too, but I also love abstracts and natural shapes like this. I wonder if this stone turns as blue as that when it rains? Like John above, I saw the little stone as an egg, or a baby version of the background, as if it might be the same in miniature if broken open.

Wonderful depth of tone and colour. You've done a good job of accentuating the colour, without it looking false.
And a great composition, too, with the solitary pebble among the striations (if that's the right word) of the rest of the rock.

Two wonderfull images Carol, so different yet the same, difficult to choose a favorite, but by a very short head I think V1 just takes it. You have done a super job of accentuating the colours, really brings the whole image to life Smile
