While staying in Somerset at half-term, we paid two visits to Kilve beach and I spent quite a while happily taking shots of the amazing cobbles and pebbles and rock formations on show there. The rocks here are limestones, mudstones and shales, laid down millions of years ago during the upper Triassic and lower Jurassic periods. The rocks are known locally as blue Lias beds and yield many fossil specimens, mostly brachiopods, crinoids and ammonites. Hope you enjoy!
