Sidewalk Colors

By Aldo Panzieri
Californians are very annoying to the rest of the country. Californians recycle over eighty percent of aluminum soda and beer cans. A polluter may find his license plate number reported to the highway patrol while he is still unloading the trash from his car. (men do over ninety percent of the illegal trash dumping.) Californians are just as likely to bringing food to a charity event at a synagogue as they are to bring food to an event at their own church. Quite often a priest or minister preforms a wedding ceremony with a Rabbi, or a Buddhist monk along side them.

All of this also finds it's way into daily life. Outside an average hardware store you can find as much thought dedication to safety as they are to advertising their products. This hardware store has a series of blue lines to show were it is safe to walk or park, then a blue non-skid strip to prevent slipping as they go from pavement to non-skid rubber pads with safety bumps. This lasts until you actually enter the store where there are strips of water absorbing material. If this isn't enough, there are entry signs reminding to hold the guard rail until you are inside the store. People who are not from California have been known to run screaming from the parking lot, and drive right back to New Jersey where pollution, and toxic waste are positively patriotic.

Nice that your safety is protected in such a colourful way Aldo and recording t makes for a colourful and well textured abstract. So what do you Californians to add to the excitement in life by taking risks?

We take risks in the road. With a Ferrari, and a Lamborghini on either side of you and an old Lady from Pasadena doing ten miles an hour in front of you, you get an urge to stomp on the gas pedal, and blowing that old broad right of the road.
