New Job =)

I lost my job at Ikea in 2015, last year i lived off all my savings deciding what i was to do next. This year i decided to volunteer at a charity shop, and later on in the cafe of another local charity. Last friday I had a job interview for cafe assistant and by tuesday I learned i had got the job!

Next monday i start work again, and it feels so good! The charity is a worthwhile cause, it helps the local homeless population, and all profits from the cafe go towards to homeless shelter that we have on site.

This is a big deal to me, because i am now living 24/7 in the female role, and everyone within the company has been absolutely amazing, so supportive! So many people told me it would be hard for me to get full time employment, and how i love to prove the naysayers wrong

I know working in a cafe is not everyones idea of a job, but it is hardly a greasy spoon like cafe, this is rather an upmarket establishment, and we pride ourselves on serving up well prepared meals, and I am also now a fully trained barista, and i have even began to do latte art, which the customers cannot get enough of! However, career prospects within the company are massive, some former cafe staff have gone on to other jobs within the company, so progression is entirely possible for me, and that can only be a good thing!

To be honest, i never thought i could do cafe work, but i really enjoy the challenge, specially when it gets busy, i thrive in busy environments, and time simply flies by like billyo!

Of course, this year it seems i have barely been with my camera, I have only done two self portrait shoots this year, but i am planning on doing a couple mroe before the year ends, i just need to find time to do it, but at least now i have a paid job, so i dont have to worry about that anymore!

I am so proud to be part of an amazing charity, and utterly delighted to be back in the working world because my savings have vanished lol
