new puppy woes

I arrived home from work an hour ago and have just got back from walking the dog.

She had her injections wednesday, and weighed at the vets, now 7.5kg in weight, she was only 2kg when we got her.

I have struggled with her, specially this week. I almost gave up on her; i felt i could not cope with her biting and barking, and i was seriously losing my patience with her. I am not a cruel person, particularly to animals, i have been a compassionate vegetarian for over 25 years now, and i would never dream of lashing out at an animal, or human for that matter.

But i was so close to losing my temper with her this week. Partly her behaviour, partly because i really missed my old poppy so much this week, its been really hard.

But i am not prepared to give up on her yet, and if anything this week has bought us closer together.

I am spending more time with her, playing with her, taking her for long walks, and even though i work nights she still gets 4 good walks a day, from me i may add, no one else.

She is her own little character, fiesty, playful, troublesome, but i wouldn't change her for the world right now Smile

H Lexi,
Keep at it, the first year is the worst! lol.
We have got a border collie (M 5 yrs) and a springer/collie cross (F 4yrs) and she can be a handful but take them for a long walk and the joy that they experience from it is infectious Smile
