Respect Due

About a month ago i emailed a few camera shops who were selling the Leica V-Lux 3 at teh discounted price of 399, the camera has now been superseded by the V-Lux 4. I made the cheeky request to be able to pay for it in two instalments before the christmas day arrives.

The first two who got back to me gave me a flat no, saying that they were clearance stock and cannot be put aside due to the newer model. Fair enough i thought, but then the last one got back to me, and kindly agreed to my cheeky request. Actually i didnt think it was too cheeky, seeing as it is christmas time, and sometimes things are bought in instalments, i thought it was a reasonable request, and so did Ace Camera's!

After much faffing around with my bank, i sent the first cheque 2 weeks ago, after i noticed the camera had vanished from their website, half thinking the cheque would come back with a sorry, too late note attached. It didnt, i got an email from Andy telling me the cheque arrived, and i emailed back saying i would send the rest as soon as i got a chequebook.

Well i didnt get one, the bank was being arsey again, so today i rang Andy at Ace's and paid the rest on my card.

What a lovely fellow Andy is too, seriously, he is a pleasure to do business with. My only regret is that i could not go to Bath to pay for it in person but its too far and time is very tight right now. But with people around like Andy who do what they do, he has made one photographer very happy indeed, one who cannot wait to get her mitts on the new toy, omg, its better than getting new lingerie Wink

Thank you very much Smile

Hi Alexandra.

That is a very bold statement "it's better than getting new lingerie", are you sure? lol. What about Elle MacPherson, Agent Provocateur, Aubade, La Perla or Simone Perele?
On a serious note it is good to see great customer service in the photographic trade. I am old enough to remember a time when most towns would have a specialist independent camera shop. You would know the staff and they would know you. How times change, and with photographic retailers for the worse Sad
I hope you enjoy your new camera over Xmas.

haha so am i, i bought my first 2 camera's at the same shop in my home town, the next 2 from camera shops in pboro, one being Jessops, but that was a very long time ago now and times have changed, can reach out to camera shops all over the uk easily.

As for "it's better than getting new lingerie", i still stand by that comment, though i have never bought anything Agent Provocateur in my life so i may be missing out there Grin
