I published a free ebook this year called The Perfect Selfie. At first I was rather pleased with it, but after a while it began to niggle me.

Basically the word Selfie really p****d me off, I mean, selfie? Really?

I dont do selfies, well, yes i do, i have done, a selfie is surely a snapshot with either the camera or phone in hand, thats what a selfie is.

But i don't post selfies here, or flickr, or my website, unless its going in my blog.

I do self portraits goddammit!

With that realization flying around my head I got to work right away on correcting my big mistake, going into the self portrait process a bit more in depth, looking at composition, more in dpeth lighting analysis, posing advice etc, and explaining simple things like Stops and perspectives, equipment guide, as well as creating images specifically for the ebook itself.

I have finished writing all the articles, but i am still missing a few images so the ebook is still in its former state right now, but when it is republished it will be called Proper Self Portraits, because thats kinda what I do I guess, in my own way. This ebook is not really a tutorial, but a guide to how I do self portraits, yes there is useful information in there regarding how camera's work, how exposures work, how light works, but I am just a very keen photographer, not a fully trained seasoned pro, so all I am doing is imparting my limited wisdom on the subject, for nowt!

At least when i publish the new version I will be able to say I am 100% happy with it this time
