WHat I have been up to lately!

You may be wondering, or not, why I am not as active on here as I used to be, one simple answer, I am having too much fun to go online much, or even do photography for that matter!

I am devoting a lot of time currently by volunteering at a local charity shop,

and i absolutely love it there, it has given me a new lease of life, and to be honest, life has never been better for me, such a contrast to how it used to be, i now wake up with a smile on my face, ready to face anything! While working there I bumped into an old school bully, he used to take the piss out of how i spoke (i have a cleft palate), and it was daily torment. He came in, i didnt recognise him, he didnt me either, i said hiya, and he smiled and i could feel him eyeing me trying to work out who i was, when i came back down into the shop after cashing up, he was still there, and the deputy manager saw him and said "Hiya sid", with that I turned round to see him still watching me, but i realised who he was.

"OMgosh its you sid, heyllo" I smiled, and he still looked confused, "You don't recognise me do you" I laughed, and then the penny dropped! What could I do to my former tormentor? I simply ran up to him and gave him the biggest hug ever, i think he felt slightly awkward but we hugged nonetheless, and he was like "I didnt recognise you, you changed so much", i sarcastically said "Yeah i got blonder" lol by rights i could have kicked him in the balls but i didnt, i just wanted to hug him, i mean, its been more than 30 years since we last met, and we are all grown up now and I am most definitely not that awkward kid i was at school, i am as confident as i have ever been, and weirdly enough i felt nothing but love for him now isn't that strange?

Also, within the last few months I have finally beaten my 28 years cannabis addiction through lucid dreaming, as bizarre as that sounds, the truth is more bizarre than that statement to be honest and I made a vlog about it on my new youtube channel, Dream Catcher.

I feel invincible now, like nothing can touch me, i have never felt more positive about life, never felt so happy in my own skin, and i can finally walk through my hometown and properly own it, with my head held so high. Within these past few months I have finally got my **** together, and life is really, really good!

As for the photography, I still do it, but i dont feel the need to upload every five minutes, it truly is for my own pleasure now, though come the summer i will resume my self portraits, i think a new direction is probably needed though, so i will work on that when the time comes but for now i am simply enjoying taking it easy and concentrating on the volunteer work, because it gives me a warm glow inside, and it is for a very good cause too. Plus it looks good on my CV Smile

So that is really it in a nutshell, i am busy smiling at life and going with it instead of against it, beating the drug addiction has undoubtedly helped, along with the ability to become conscious within my dreams has done me the world of good and i just see things from a completely new angle now. Reality really is what we make it, so make it a good one i say Grin

That's great, Lexi. You're such a strong person. Smile

I have to say, I helped out in a BHF charity shop for a while but it was the most boring thing I've ever done. Being a newbie I wasn't in with the interesting stuff out the back, my task was to make sure the hangers and things were tidy. There was an awful lot of standing about. It looks like you've got a more interest job. Smile

Its varied, the pic was taken after i counted the takings to get it sent to the bank, but i work the till, dress the windows up, make tea/coffee, help customers, tell filthy jokes to the regular male customers and occasionally hang clothes up lol i did once run the shop for a day last year while the manageress and deputy were away, that was a privilege, but i genuinely enjoy it there, the banter is fun too, we all have bucket mouths which helps a lot Smile xx

Great to read about the positive things happening for you, Lexi. I hope things keep going in the right direction. Quitting the weed after 28 years - that I can relate to in a way as I quit 'normal' ciggies after smoking 30 a day for 40 years.
All power to you!

Wow, big congrats to you Malc, now that is a big deal, isn't life better without being tied to smoke though? I tried all last year to quit, it didnt really work until the lucid dream thing, its like having direct access to your subconsciousness, and just goes to show that we are not as hard wired as we may think we are! xx
