Sometimes a bargain is too good to resist, like a pair of bootcut jeans for a tenner, or a half price discount on something else entirely.

Or a ten pound slave flashgun...

What could go wrong? Well it all seemed fine until last night, the thing stopped working completely, the red light is on but it wont flash either by testing it, or activating it by the slave or on camera.

Kaput!

I am not sure if this is coincidence or not, but the last 4 items from TCT on amazon have all either been faulty, incompatible, or just dont work at all. Probably a run of bad luck, i have bought from them in the past and never had any issue until recently, but lately their products fall way short of the mark.

Anyway, the Godox cf-18 is now resting in peace in a bin.

I thought the YN460-II by Yongnuo was a good alternative so ordered one last night,

the reviews are very good and very positive.

Update on last nights shoot. Well, i looked outside at 6ish and saw frost on my roof of my Funto, and decided against it Grin

Anyway, i have decided i need a wet night for this, so light is reflected in the wet surroundings otherwise photos at night could look a bit flat and uninteresting.

Time to go to work again, the first time in a week, lets hope i get a few more days in, enjoy the rest of the weekend you lucky people Wink
