Cute Coot Chick!

By AlexAppleby
Many thanks to everyone who dropped by to C&C on my upload of a common sandpiper, and most especially to rsjkinson, Silverzone, NaturesHaven, PentaxPatty, Alan_Baseley for their valued user awards - I really do appreciate it.

Today I'm posting an image of a cute coot chick (try saying that)! Taken this weekend in Essex. Please try not to make any comments questioning his good looks, I've known him since he was an egg and I'm very fond of him. His parents spend all day feeding him and his sibling, I'm only surprised they don't sink considering the amount they put away! I do hope you like him!

Really excellent, Alex. as you know, I was shooting these too last weekend, mine today got a fair few ugly comments but I genuinely like the appearance of these lovely chicks and particularly like how the first signs of their later characteristic white bill is evident at the tip. Fascinating to watch the busy work of the parents endeavouring to feed them too, a great way to spend some time.
