Hi, welcome to the Critique Gallery, I see that this is your first upload on the site, although you have been a member for a while. I hope you will enjoy it and find it a good place to learn. We try to give advice that will help people to improve their photography both the taking and the editing of images.

Remember that the more information you give us as regards your photographic aims and intentions, the better. It also helps us if you respond to critique and indicate which ideas you find helpful. That means we can tailor advice according to your needs.

Without further information on your intentions we can only offer constructive critique on the image as we see it here.
I do like the shapes and light on the ever-changing sand and the suggestion of foot prints to the left.
I did a very simple mod for you, cropped from the top as there is no real interest in the sky and a general lighten using levels.

Btw, I see you have not assigned a colour profile to this image, best one to use is sRGB for posting on the site.

Welcome from me too.

This is a good shpt, and the small adjustment made by Janet makes the most of the capture, and is more or less what I would have done.

I there's anything specific you'd like help or feedback on we like to see that in the description, but it's fine to add it as a coment, togehter with full exif details and any processing you applied.

This would gain votes in the main Gallery but not usually constructive comment.

Welcome from me too.
This is a very striking image, quite heavily processed and generally to good effect. I said "generally" because there's a fair amount of what looks like digital artefact in the sky. Cropping, as Janet has done in her modification, removes the worst affected area in addition to improving the composition... otherwise if you prefer the full frame I'd suggest selecting the sky ( if your processing software allows that ) and applying Gaussian Blur to smooth things out. I'll upload a mod to illustrate the effect of that.
Personally I wouldn't lighten it, as I prefer the richness of the darker tonality.

thanks very much everyone for your informative critiques. you are right about the sky, the photo looks better cropped. sometimes i can miss the simplest things during post processing, things which seem quite obvious to another person.

There is insufficient shot/exif data to give this the critique it deserves.

Its been heavily posy processed, and it would be good to see the orfiginal if you still have it, upload it here by clicking the modification button and selecting upload.

The sky is very noisy and blotchy, and we dont know the time of day its been taken; shutter speed, Aperture or ISO. All this helps us helps you, and we can also assess from the data, and you original what your intent may have been.

I like the image a lot, but this gallery can provide you with a ton of good feedback with the right information from you.

I did upload a mod, - also less sky to remove large blotches, and applied some blur.

Regards

Willie

A belated welcome form me: I don't have anything to add, except that 'Save for web' strips out EXIF data - it's far better to use 'Save as'.
