The Blog of an Alevel Photography Student Part 89!
28 Mar 2014 9:37PM Views : 1201 Unique : 826Not blogged in a while, been trying to focus my passion back on photography... not that I've lost it, just I've lost the passion to learn. This year my photography course hasn't really been as good as last year, personally i feel its because i lost a really good teacher and now have fine art teacher teaching photography. For example, she feels every photograph has to be photoshopped.
I quote : "why are you not photoshopping that photograph"
Me: "because it doesn't need it "
Her" you could change the colour of that part then move that flower over there"
Me: " then its not a photograph anymore its more digital art, i like it how it is"
She has good intentions and all but i don't know if you guys feel it, but not every photograph needs manipulating yeah a crop or slight brightness or contrast change is fine, but spending 30mins on photoshop when its not needed seems pointless. Part of the reason i prefer film, because yeah i can dodge burn and add filters but the photograph itself cannot become digital art in a darkroom.
Been experimenting with my macro filters.... kinda think buying a macro lens now after playing with the filters would be a good idea.... just so expensive i would prefer a nikkor, I've got a tamron 18-270m, but the auto focus with my d2x is rather slow i can manually adjust it quicker, however with my d70 it works fine, and i really would want to use the macro with my d2x. Nikon and nikon compatibility i feel will be better... but thats just preference.
3 months left of college, 2 of my photography course finish in may yay! I have finally made myself sit and write about my photographs, meaning during my half term without getting side tracked by photographing other things i am going to take some more reading photographs, which ill probably post on here
talking of projects this one really inspired me, think i might go on holiday see some places
