Lucky Seven II

By AlleyCatz
Good morning folks....

I had two suggestions of maybe toning or doing a subtle colour version of this image, previously posted as a mono. So Thanks for that ....and here it is.

I REALLY THINK THIS IMAGE NEEDS A LARGE VIEW.....Thanks

This scene was in the industrial museum.
The Industrial Museum, with a wonderful display of Textile, Transport and Technology from Nottingham's past on display, including favourites like the Basford Beam Engine, a fully operational analogue telephone network that you can see working whilst you chat, a display of cycles, motor cycles and motor cars linked to the city and some of the most important lace making machinery that put Nottingham on the textile map forever. The Steam Engine House has a fully operational Steaming Day run by the Nottingham Arkwright Society on the last Sunday of every month.

I am told the bike is a "Brough Superior" of around the 1920's period.......modified for racing.

Its apparentley quite an expensive bike to buy also...One went for £25,000 ten years ago!
Thanks for that info Ollie (Oll1e) Smile

Thanks for your info also Doug (Wyatturp) Smile

Whilst I liked the POV and detail in the BW version I thought it looked a little "harsh". This version is richer with more subtlety and depth IMO. Definitely worth loading in it's own right rather than as a variant to yesterday's version.

The subtle toning really works for this subject -- gives it a nice old-fashioned feel.

Bugger!! Whilst I had both loaded large to compare, DaveU was typing my exact thoughts!!!

The colouring definitely adds some subtlety to the image, making this my favourite of the two.

You said it! Tongue

Well on YOUR monitor here....it looks as I intended Smile
But must admit the thumbnail looks dark/rubbish....and it does need that large view.

Thanks Doug and send your Dad a big thanks and Smile from me.

Thanks for stopping by......Always appreciate your time.
I am now liking this colour version much more than the B&W.

well i think its better than yesterdays Alley ,seems to have given it some depth and some warmth .
I wouldn't be suprised Alley if this bike was used for sprints on Redcar-Saltburn sands as it was a mecca for sprinting .Even the great Malcolm Campbell raced here and broke the land speed record ,but was later disallowed over timing lights .
