Urban Skater Boy

By AlleyCatz
Good evening folks...

An HDR shot combined in Photomatix and tweaked inPS ( not everyone's cup of tea.... vicar! )
I think that this image would benefit from being viewed large....Thanks

Rob's (look in my PF) boys called round today to see if my son was playing. They had thier skates on and thought I would really like to get some shots of them infront of this old building thats just down the road from us. Wanted to give it a bit of a mean and moody look and thought it would suit HDR.

Thanks for stopping by
C&C welcome

~Alley~

P.S Just thought I would add....That I got permission from the owners of the house before I took any photo's.

certainly good shot but for me looks "overworked" but then, I'm not (to say least) a fan of HDR.

I think the subject, textures and comp would work excellently as a "social comment" mono.

Christopher: No not everyone likes the "overworked" look....but sometimes I feel an image suits or needs it. Thanks for stopping by Smile

Well if an image "needs" overworking it is a sign that the image is not strong enough as it is taken.
Personally I think this is a great shot and would love to see a gritty b/wh version.
I think this cartooning of images will not stand the test of time but understand that it is a fun technique to try.
This great pricture is an example of where you could upload the original as a v2 and challenge people to upload a modification the way they would have loved to see the shot processed.
To get inspiration!

Someone should tell that young man that there is no way you can look mean and moody whilst wearing silly boots. Suits the heavy tone-mapping a treat though Ms Catz.
